Board and Commission Openings

From time to time the City will have openings on one or more of its Boards or Commissions.  If you would be interested in serving in this voluntary capacity,  please see below for announcements.

 

 

The City of Sebastopol invites interested citizens to volunteer and apply for three (3) additional openings on the newly created Public Arts Committee.

 

The appointments will be four year staggered terms in the following categories. 

 

• One members shall be an active member of a City of Sebastopol based, art focused, registered non-profit organization, entity or facility
• One member shall be  member of the general public
• One Alternate 

 

 

The Committee shall maintain a registry of public art in the City and perform the duties required of this ordinance and any other ordinance or resolution of the City Council pertaining to the City of Sebastopol’s Public Art Program.

 

In addition to development related public art projects or public art projects funded by the Public Art Fund, the Committee shall review and provide recommendations to the City Council on Non Development Generated Public Art projects.

Notice of Openings on the Complete Streets Advisory Committee

 

The City of Sebastopol invites interested citizens to volunteer and apply for the Complete Streets Advisory Committee.

 

The Advisory Committee shall have a total of seven (7) voting members; five (5) shall be members-at-large, appointed by the city council.  A sixth (6th) voting member shall be Sebastopol’s liaison to the Sonoma County Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.  A seventh (7th) voting member, appointed by the city council, under the age of eighteen and preferably a student at a Sebastopol area school at the time of appointment, may be appointed to the Advisory Committee.  With respect to this final appointment, the Council may indicate a preference for a student who will have the ability to serve a term of more than a single year.  The city council may appoint a member-at-large to the seventh (7th) seat should no qualified applicants under the age of 18 years be identified.

 

Members of the Advisory Committee are appointed to two-year terms.  All terms shall expire June 30th of their respective year.  Initially three (3) terms shall expire June 30, 2013; four (4) terms shall expire June 30, 2014, by random draw of the initial appointees.
